At the Taylorsville Road church of Christ we strongly emphasize the profitability of studying the Bible. Due emphasis is given to all areas of context, whether it be linguistic/grammatical, immediate/remote, historical/theological, we want to ensure that we are performing exegesis rather than eisegesis.
In our continuing effort to encourage these proper reading and study techniques, we provide weekly Bible studies to ensure we are getting back to the Word. Meetup is a large part of that effort. If you look to the bottom right of our homepage, you will find a link to information regarding those studies. We also have well-established studies before Sunday morning worship starting at 9:30 AM with the adult class currently studying 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus and an adult class on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM where we are currently studying a neat little workbook called "Why?" by Brother Donnie Rader that examines the practical defense of key Bible doctrines. We likewise have classes for our young people at the same times where they learn valuable lessons like the woes of covetousness in the life of Achan.
The importance of such classes in finding and walking on God's narrow path cannot be overstated. In the inspired and inspirational words of young Jeremiah, the prophet of God, "Thus says the Lord, 'Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls...'" (6:16). Or as the inspired physician Luke wrote of the Bereans, "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so." (Acts 17:11)
We extend a warm welcome to all those wanting to get back to Scripture to join in on these profitable Bible studies.
