One of the temptations of our day is to distance ourselves from the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. Our world sometimes scoffs and ridicules the idea - "What does the death of a guy from 2,000 years ago have to do with me?" It has everything to do with each and every one of us as we have all fallen drastically short of the glory of God. We recognize our falling short of standards in the civil and moral realm; it is high time we recognized our falling short in the divine realm.
