The evangelist and early deacon of the church, Philip, was directed by the Lord away from Samaria where numerous people were being saved to a proselyte Ethiopian eunuch on a barren road. Philip had the blessed privilege of preaching Jesus to this man from the text of Isaiah 53. The man was converted to Christ and went on his way rejoicing in His relationship with the Man of Sorrows.
