God reveals "great and mighty things" to Jeremiah, promising healing and restoration to both Israel and Judah. He points to a glorious future where the royal house of David and the priestly house of Levi will never lack those to serve. In the midst of this, Zedekiah is given key details about what awaits his future as Nebuchadnezzar besieges Jerusalem. In the midst of this siege, Zedekiah commands the release of Hebrew slaves and the people obey, only to recant when Babylon leaves to counter the Egyptian coalition.
